Life Care Center of Haltom

There were so many great things I planned on saying about this place until the end. There were multiple occasions I came and my mother with dementia was sitting soiled due to her inability to remember to tell someone that she needs changing. PT leaving me messages informing me that she was still not at her baseline days prior to discharge. I explained to them that I take care of her alone and think the condition she is in will led us right back to the hospital. Instead of fighting for temporary long term care that I felt my mother needed, I was called one business day after insurance stop paying with harassing threats about them calling adult protective services. Only reason I did not give one star is because of the hand full of people that treated my mother like their own.

Do not send your loved ones to this place. They WILL be neglected and mistreated. My grandmother always said these people were the “devil’s workers” before she passed. They were rough, very rude, and clearly did not care about their patients feelings. Find a different place to send your loved ones because they will be mistreated and neglected while they are there.

I had a friend there last week and his experience was not good. He got Covid from an employee which put him in isolation so the therapy he got was limited to his room. When he pushed his call light it would take a long time and sometimes no one would come. He never had ice water every day and the room wasn’t cleaned everyday while in isolation. I think there is a lot that needs to change. I don’t know why if he wore a mask he could have gone to therapy room for better therapy.

PLEASE! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!! DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS FACILITY!!! Everything is promising at first, but when you have them in the facility, they will be treated very horribly! Don't believe me? I am, or was the Maintenance Assistant there. I recently decided to leave the facility/company due to their lack of actually wanting to help out the residents. I remember the residents crying and begging for me to help them in whatever their needs were, and I felt so horrible because I was told that I could not touch, pick up, or move the resident when they were in their wheelchairs or beds. I will dearly miss when I put a big ol' smile on the residents face for helping them with a wheelchair brake, a chain for their light, fixing the bed, or any little maintenance work that needed to be done. I am very disappointed in the way the facility is running and that isn’t the employees fault! It’s the ED’s fault. He just sits around on his desk chair and THINKS his facility is goin good, but it’s not. It’s a complete disaster. However, NOT all employees are that bad!. Angie, Alfonso, Andy (CNA), Britanny, Chrystal, Colleen, Cheryl, Derrian, Doris, Destiny, Kayla, LuLu, Laura, Noodle, Regina, Rose (CNA), Tristan, Terah, Tweety and everyone in the kitchen… Thank you all so much for makin the facility a GREAT place to stay!!! Whenever I think of my mom, who at 82 years fell down and hurt herself, I think of the two people who helped her the most at the rehabilitation center (Life Care Center of Haltom) at 2936 MARKUM DRIVE, Fort Worth, Texas. There names are Andy Ucheabba and William Barnard. They are both Certified Nurse Assistants (CNS). They must be very very strong. They transferred my mom so many times from her bed to her wheelchair and from her wheelchair to her bed. I was often there from about 2pm until 6pm. My brother was there when I wasn’t and I heard really good things about the nurses… I can’t imagine if William and Andy weren’t there. They made my mom very comfortable and always asked her if she was comfortable. I just want to say, “THANK YOU BOTH FOR BEING SUCH GREAT NURSING ASSISTANTS FOR MY MOM!!! YOU TREATED HER VERY VERY WELL”. And I want to thank Crystal McDonald who is the Admissions Director. She was extremely helpful in taking a tour and answering various questions!!!
